Treatments:

ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSIS

Done in our offices and has dramatically improved the results of treatment by allowing for accurate diagnosis of the source of the venous disease by providing an ability to visualize the veins well below the surface without the need for complex and highly expensive radiologic equipment.

ENDOVASCULAR LASER TREATMENT (EVLT)

EVLT is now the procedure of choice for those patients with significant Varicose Veins along the path of the Greater Saphenous Vein and is a replacement for the older procedure of Ligation and Stripping. Unlike Ligation and Stripping there are No incisions, No downtime No General Anesthesia and a minimum of post procedure discomfort that does not require prescription pain medication. The procedure is done in the office in less than 1 hour.

FOAM SCLEROTHERAPY

Another recent advance that allows for a very intense yet small volume treatment for medium to large varicose veins. When used with ULTRASOUND GUIDANCE to localize injection , this becomes a powerful tool for the treatment of perforator and resistant varicose and spider veins.

MICROPHLEBECTOMY

Another recent development used for treating varicose veins ( see photos). We make 1-2mm incisions under local anesthesia and with the special instruments allows us to remove the offending veins. Because the incisions are so small there are no sutures necessary and the scarring is minimal.

SCLEROTHERAPY

The gold standard for the treatment of spider and reticular (those bluish, greenish veins)that are slightly larger than the typical spider veins. We do not use saline injections any longer as it is more toxic to the skin and more painful than the newer sclerotherapy options.
